A Ceremony of National Significance
On 30th March 2025, Refuge Events had the honour of designing and delivering the foundation stone ceremony for the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre — a landmark moment for one of India's most respected ophthalmic care institutions, graced by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The event marked the laying of the foundation stone for a new 250-bed super-specialty extension to the Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute and Research Centre, established in 2014. Held on the auspicious day of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada (Gudi Padwa), coinciding with the centenary year of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the ceremony brought together a constellation of national dignitaries including RSS Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, Param Pujya Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj, Param Pujya Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis. Every detail of the experience — from protocol and security coordination to ceremonial design and guest journey — was crafted to honour the gravity of the occasion.

SPG & VVIP Protocol
Coordinating with SPG, state police and intelligence teams for a venue hosting the Prime Minister, with multi-layer security clearances across every supplier and crew member.

Final PMO confirmation arrived weeks before execution — requiring rapid mobilisation, simultaneous vendor scaling and round-the-clock site readiness drills.
Sacred & Ceremonial Tone
Balancing the spiritual gravitas of a Bhoomi Pujan and the presence of revered saints with the formal precision expected of a national-level state event.
National Media Coverage
Hosting Doordarshan, ANI, PIB and 60+ national news crews — designing camera angles, media risers and broadcast feeds without compromising guest sightlines.

Made It Happen
Working in close coordination with the Madhav Netralaya trustees, the PMO advance team and state authorities, we approached this assignment with the discipline of a state ceremony and the reverence of a sacred occasion — the kind of large-scale event management in Nagpur that demands both precision and sensitivity in equal measure. Every decision — visual, logistical and ceremonial — was passed through that dual lens.
Strategic Discovery & Protocol Mapping
Multi-stakeholder briefings with the institute's leadership, RSS coordinators and government liaisons to map protocol layers, ceremonial sequence and the symbolic vision for the day.
Venue Design & Sanctification
Transformed the site into a dignified ceremonial ground featuring a custom Bhoomi Pujan mandap, a tiered dignitary dais, themed entry arches and a 2000-capacity covered guest pavilion.
Technical Production
Deployed broadcast-grade AV with redundant power, three large-format LED walls, multi-camera PTZ setup, simultaneous Hindi-Marathi-English feeds and uninterrupted live transmission to national broadcasters.
Guest Experience & Hospitality
Designed a refined arrival journey for over 2000 invitees — including saints, doctors, donors and community leaders — with curated welcome kits, dedicated lounges and a Sattvic refreshment programme.
Flawless Execution
A 65-member on-ground team operated through three full rehearsals and a synchronised D-day run — every cue, escort and timing precise to the minute, with the PM's arrival and departure executed without a single delay.
