On 2 May 2025, inside the NSCI Dome at Worli, Mumbai, Refuge Events produced one of the most significant live entertainment debuts in Indian sporting history — WXM Ground Zero: POWERBOMB, the grand launch of Wrestling Xtreme Mania, India's first and only homegrown professional wrestling company, staged as the centrepiece live event of WAVES 2025, India's inaugural World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit.
WXM came to Refuge Events with a vision that was equal parts sporting spectacle, national pride and entertainment revolution. The brief was nothing short of extraordinary — produce a world-class professional wrestling event that could stand alongside anything WWE had ever brought to India, while being entirely and unmistakably Indian in its soul. The event needed to showcase 20+ international and homegrown wrestlers, seat over 4,000 fans, host dignitaries including Maharashtra's Governor and Chief Minister, deliver full broadcast-quality production for TV and OTT, and serve as the defining visual statement that WXM was here to change Indian entertainment permanently.
Refuge Events designed, built and delivered every single element of that night — concept to curtain call, ringside to rafters, first pyro burst to final championship moment.
What We Were
Up Against
A Historic First
No professional wrestling event of this scale and ambition had ever been produced in India. There was no playbook. We were building the benchmark — and it had to be perfect from the very first night.
Broadcast-Grade Production
WXM was taping content for national TV and OTT release. Every camera angle, lighting cue, pyro sequence, entrance effect and ring presentation had to meet international broadcast standards — in a live, unscripted environment.
VVIP Protocol
The Maharashtra Governor, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and senior state ministers were in attendance. Managing VVIP security, seating, protocol and press access without disrupting the live entertainment flow demanded meticulous coordination.
The Spectacle Standard
Fans had grown up watching WWE on global stages. WXM's debut had to match — and exceed — those expectations: LED walls, entrance pyrotechnics, immersive sound, dramatic lighting and a ring environment that felt world-class from every seat in the dome.

We were WXM's single production partner for every element of this event — creative concept, physical build, technical production, talent logistics, broadcast coordination, VVIP management and on-night execution. Nothing was outsourced beyond our oversight. When 4,000 fans walked into the NSCI Dome on the night of 2 May 2025, every single thing they experienced had been conceived, built and delivered by Refuge Events.
Creative Concept & Show Design
Developed the full creative vision for WXM Ground Zero: POWERBOMB — including the event name, visual identity, stage architecture, entrance aesthetic, show flow, segment structure and overall narrative arc that would carry audiences from the opening pyro to the historic WAVES Shield main event.
Venue Transformation & Ring Build
Transformed the NSCI Dome, Worli into a world-class professional wrestling arena — custom ring build, full ringside staging architecture, tiered audience configuration, dedicated broadcast positions, press zones, VVIP enclosures and fully branded arena environment from floor to ceiling.
AV, Lighting & Pyrotechnics
Deployed large-format LED display walls, a fully programmable immersive lighting rig, broadcast-standard sound system and live pyrotechnics — producing entrance effects, match atmosphere and show moments that matched the visual language of global professional wrestling at the highest level.
Broadcast Production
Provided complete broadcast production infrastructure — multi-camera setup, director feeds, commentary desk, ring announcer staging and post-show content pipeline — enabling WXM to subsequently air the event across their YouTube channel, where it accumulated over 930,000 views.
Talent & Logistics Coordination
Managed end-to-end logistics for 20+ professional wrestlers — including international superstars Raj The Maharaja (Jinder Mahal), Samuray Del Sol (Kalisto), Axel Tischer and Chris Adonis — covering travel, accreditation, dressing room allocation, entrance sequencing and on-night talent flow.
VVIP Protocol & Guest Management
Coordinated full VVIP management for Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and accompanying state officials — including security liaison, dedicated arrival and seating protocols, media access management and official photography — all without a single disruption to the live show.
Ticketing, Front of House & Audience Experience
Managed the complete audience journey — from BookMyShow ticketing integration and gate management to in-arena merchandise, audience engagement and the electrifying atmosphere that brought 4,000 fans to their feet from the first entrance to the final bell.
