On 7th March 2026, Refuge Events had the privilege of designing and delivering the Bhoomipujan ceremony for Solar Defence & Aerospace Limited's ₹12,800 crore UAV & Robotics Manufacturing Plant at the MIHAN Special Economic Zone, Nagpur — one of the largest private-sector defence manufacturing commitments India has ever seen, and part of Refuge Events' growing footprint in event management in Nagpur.
Conceived as an AI-powered Industry 5.0 production ecosystem, the upcoming plant is engineered to manufacture up to 10,000 unmanned aerial vehicles and 1,000 defence robotics units every year — a decisive leap forward for India's drone sovereignty and Aatmanirbhar Bharat in deep-tech defence. The ceremony was graced by Hon'ble Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon'ble Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis and the Solar Group leadership led by Chairman Shri Satyanarayan Nuwal, with senior officials, ecosystem partners and thousands of Solar Group employees in attendance. Every layer of the experience — from the sanctified rituals to the broadcast production and forward-looking design language — was crafted to honour both the cultural moment and the technological future it represented.

Dual-VVIP Protocol
Synchronising the protocols of a Union Cabinet Minister and a sitting Chief Minister within a single ceremonial window — with state police, intelligence and SEZ security clearances stacked across every supplier.
Future-Forward Design
Crafting a visual language that signalled UAVs, robotics and AI without slipping into clichéd "tech" tropes — every surface, screen and motif deliberately balanced between Indian heritage and aerospace future.
Green-Field Site Build
Building a ceremony-grade precinct from raw industrial land inside MIHAN SEZ — temporary infrastructure, dust suppression, all-weather flooring, climate-controlled pavilions and a sanctified mandap, all from zero.
National Media Spotlight
Hosting 85+ national, defence and business media outlets and coordinating broadcast feeds in three languages without compromising guest sightlines, ritual integrity or VVIP movement choreography.

We approached this assignment as a once-in-a-generation industrial milestone — one demanding the precision of a defence event, the reverence of a Bhoomipujan and the imagination of an aerospace launch. Working in close coordination with SDAL leadership, MIHAN authorities, the offices of the Union Minister and Chief Minister, and the state administration, every decision passed through that triple lens.
Strategic Discovery & Story Arc
Workshops with Solar Group leadership and government liaisons to define the narrative thread of the day — anchoring the ceremony in heritage while pointing it firmly toward an unmanned, AI-driven future.
Site Build & Sanctification
Transformed a green-field MIHAN parcel into a ceremonial precinct featuring a custom Bhoomipujan mandap, tiered dignitary dais, themed UAV-inspired entry arches and a 4500-capacity climate-controlled pavilion.
Technical & Broadcast Production
Deployed broadcast-grade AV with redundant power, three large-format LED walls running custom motion graphics, multi-camera PTZ setup and simultaneous Hindi-Marathi-English feeds for national media.
Guest Experience & Hospitality
Designed an end-to-end journey for 4500+ invitees — government officials, defence ecosystem partners, Solar Group employees and families — with curated welcome kits, dedicated lounges and a Sattvic refreshment programme.
Flawless Execution
An 80-member on-ground team operated through four full rehearsals and a synchronised D-day run — every cue, escort and ceremonial timing precise to the minute, with both VVIP arrivals and departures executed without a single delay.
