On 7th March 2026, Refuge Events had the honour of designing and delivering the Bhoomipujan ceremony for Solar Defence & Aerospace Limited's ₹12,800 crore Mega Manufacturing Block (MUB) at the MIHAN Special Economic Zone, Nagpur — one of the largest private-sector defence manufacturing investments in India's history.
Once operational, the facility is set to produce up to 10,000 UAVs and 1,000 defence robotics units annually as an AI-powered Industry 5.0 ecosystem — a defining moment for Aatmanirbhar Bharat in defence and aerospace. The ceremony was graced by Hon'ble Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon'ble Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis and the Solar Group leadership led by Chairman Shri Satyanarayan Nuwal, alongside senior officials, industry partners and thousands of Solar Group employees. Every layer of the experience — from the sanctified Bhoomipujan rituals to the broadcast production and large-scale guest hospitality — was crafted to honour both the spiritual significance and the national stature of the milestone.

Made It Happen
As an event planner in Nagpur with deep experience in state-level protocol, we approached this assignment as an industrial milestone — one demanding the precision of a defence inauguration, the reverence of a Bhoomipujan and the warmth of a homecoming for the Solar Group family. Working in close coordination with SDAL leadership, MIHAN authorities, the offices of the Union Minister and Chief Minister, and the state administration, every decision passed through that triple lens.
Strategic Discovery & Protocol Mapping
Deep-dive briefings with Solar Group leadership, government liaisons and MIHAN SEZ authorities to define the ceremonial sequence, dual-VVIP protocol layers and the strategic story arc of the day.
Site Build & Sanctification
Transformed a green-field MIHAN parcel into a ceremonial precinct featuring a custom Bhoomipujan mandap, tiered dignitary dais, themed entry arches and a 4000-capacity climate-controlled pavilion.
Technical Production
Deployed broadcast-grade AV with redundant power, three large-format LED walls, multi-camera PTZ setup, dedicated broadcast feeds and simultaneous Hindi-Marathi-English channels for national media.
Guest Experience & Hospitality
Designed an end-to-end journey for 4000+ invitees — government officials, industry partners, Solar Group employees and families — with curated welcome kits, dedicated lounges and a Sattvic refreshment programme.
Flawless Execution
A 75-member on-ground team operated through three full rehearsals and a synchronised D-day run — every cue, escort and ceremonial timing precise to the minute, with both VVIP arrivals and departures executed without a single delay.
